The exchange order (MCO) can be exchanged to the Sanyo Area pass at authorized exchange offices located in JR West (Kansai and Sanyo) area, after you arrive in Japan. The Sanyo Area pass is valid for unlimited travel using ordinary reserved /non-reserved seats on Bullet Train "SANYO SHINKANSEN" (Nozomi, Mizuho, Hikari, Sakura, Kodama), ordinary reserved/non-reserved seats on Kansai-airport Express HARUKA, Special Rapid Services, Rapid Services, and Local Services on JR-WEST Conventional Lines in SANYO area, and also JR-WEST Miyajima Ferry Route. Only foreign tourists who has non-Japanese passport and visits Japan for sightseeing under the entry status of "temporary visitor" can purchase this Exchange Order (MCO) for the Sanyo Area pass. The Sanyo Area pass is not valid for travel on Bullet Train "Tokaido Shinkansen" between Shin-Osaka and Tokyo. You will be required to fill in a short application form and present your passport (must have "temporary visitor" stamp) when you change MCO to the Sanyo Area pass. Only the person whose name is inscribed on the face of the pass can use it. The validity period of MCO is 3 months after issued date. When you exchange it, you can decide the start date of use the pass, but the start date must be within a month after exchanged date. You should carry your passport during travel with the Sanyo Area pass, and be prepared to show it if requested. Neither a MCO nor the Sanyo Area pass can be reissued if lost, stolen, soiled, or otherwise rendered unusable.
