The exchange order (MCO) can be exchanged to the Kansai Area pass at authorized exchange offices located in Kansai area after you arrive in Japan. The Kansai Area pass is valid for unlimited travel using ordinary non-reserved seats on Kansai-airport Express HARUKA and Special Rapid Services, Rapid Services, and Local Services on JR-WEST Conventional Lines in KANSAI area. Only foreign tourists who has non-Japanese passport and visits Japan for sightseeing under the entry status of "temporary visitor" can purchase this Exchange Order(MCO) for the Kansai Area pass. The pass cannot be used on Shinkansen(Bullet Train). Separate Limited/Regular Express Tickets must be purchased when using those trains excluding Kansai-Airport Express HARUKA. You will be required to fill in a short application form and present your passport (must have "temporary visitor" stamp) when you change MCO to the pass. Only the person whose name is inscribed on the face of the pass can use it. The validity period of MCO is 3 months after issued date. When you exchange, you can decide the start date of use the pass, but the start date must be within a month after exchanged date. You should carry your passport during travel with the pass, and be prepared to show it if requested. Neither MCO nor the Kansai Area pass can be reissued if lost, stolen, soiled, or otherwise rendered unusable.
