Scenic East and Besakih

The eastern part of Bali is dominated by the presence of the towering Mount Agung (3142 meters), Bali's most sacred and highest volcano that erupted violently in 1963. This is a varied and interesting day tour beginning with the small town of Gianyar and Klungkung you can visit the Kertagosa, an ancient court house with typical Kamasa Wayang painted on its ceilings depicting scenes of punishment and rewards in the afterlife. Proceed to Goa Lawah and Tenganan, the village of the aga tribe who has its own culture and live in a totally different style of architecture. You can also admire the panoramic view of Bukit Jambul while having lunch. The afternoon is devoted to the most beautiful and large temple in Bali, Besakih temple. Besakih Temple, built on one of its slopes, is regarded to be the biggest and the holiest temple in Bali and it is one of the tour's highlights.
