Description

This 288-room hotel, opened in 2007, is spread over two separate blocks and situated in one of the area's oldest housing estates. It exemplifies the unique planning and architectural style typical of British public housing from the same period. The first former Singapore Improvement Trust flats to be converted into a hotel, the property consists of two pre-war buildings, complete with original facades. The buildings are situated on opposite sides of the main road and are connected by an air-conditioned, overhead link bridge. Services provided by the hotel include a business centre with secretarial services, currency exchange facilities, laundry and dry cleaning services and an outdoor car park, as well as a shuttle service to Orchard Road. The air-conditioned lobby has a 24-hour reception and check-out service and lift access. There is also a hotel bar in the lobby, as well as a lounge where live bands often perform in the evenings. Room and laundry services can be provided (extra fees apply) and there is parking for guests arriving by car.
