You will firstly take a short water taxi ride across Lake Te Anau to Brod Bay, with its clear water and white sands. Then you will walk on the well formed track (suitable for all abilities) along the lakes' edge through pristine forest. Your knowledgeable local guide will show you the native fauna and flora, explain the unique forest ecological cycle and share conservation efforts made on the Kepler track and surrounding Fiordland. Half way through you will emerge into open grassland with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Passing the Te Anau Wildlife Park, there will be an opportunity to view the rare flightless Takahe and some of New Zealand's endangered birds. The walk will then concludes back in Te Anau at the Visitor Centre.
