The morning is spent with visits to the Roluos group of temples. Capital during the reign of King Indravaraman I (877-89), they are among the earliest large, permanent monuments of the Khmer classical art period. Preah Ko was dedicated by the King to his ancestors. Bakhong is the largest and the most interesting of the group including an active Buddhist monastery. Lastly Lolei, built on an islet in the center of large reservoir by Yasovarman I - the founder of the first city of Angkor. Visit Prolung Khmer, an NGO that aims to revive the Khmer crafts of cotton weaving and pottery making. Then Artisan D' Angkor where highly skilled Khmer artists carve wood and stone.
